SONDA NO. 550 IN FLĂCĂRI. - TREI LUCRATORI CARBONIZAŢI.

PLOEŞTI, 13. — Un mare incendiu s’a declarat astăzi, după amiază, la sonda No. 550 din Moreni, proprietatea „Orion “.

In câteva clipe, flăcările au cuprins intreaga instalaţie si nu după multă vreme, au mistuit totul.

Trei muncitori cari se aflau la lucru au fost carbonizaţi complect. lată numele lor : Nită Stoica, Ion Stănescu şi Filip Andreianu .

Pagubele intrec suma de trei milioane.

Cauzele nenorocirii nu se cunosc incă.

S’a deschis o anchetă.

Sondă incendiată

Bucureşti. — Din Ploeşti se anunţă, că un incendiu a izbucnit eri la ora 7 seara, la Sonda 550, proprietatea Orion.

Focul a luat îndată proporţii mari. Ajutorul a fost aproape imposibil. întreaga sondă a fost distrusă.

Din nenorocire avem de înregistrat şi victime omeneşti. In adevăr trei lucrători care n’au reuşit a se salva îndată, au fost în urmă scoşi carbonizaţi.

Pagubele sunt foart mari.‘‘

Sonda nr. 550 UN Orion Moreni Nord a fost sapata in anul 1923 la o adancime de 960 metri pentru a exploatata din Meotian I . Este situata pe Dealu Cristianu din Moreni.

THE FIRE at the Bana-Moreni oilfield

— Five wells and seven oil tanks destroyed —

Regarding the fire in the Bana-Moreni oil rig, a morning newspaper reported that 7 wells had burned. The reality is completely different.

The fire broke out last night at 5 o'clock and burned oil wells: 101, 102 and 103, of soc. Aquila - Franco-Romanian,  No. 11, of soc. "Petrolia", no. 505 of soc. "Unirea", formerly "Orion" as well as 7 oil tanks, 5 of which belong to Soc. Franco-Romanian Aquila, one of the ’’Petrolia’’ and another of ’’Unirea’’. In total, 8 crude oil wagons were burned (  80 cubic meters ). All wells were in production.

Despite all the help given, the fire could not be located until this morning at 6 o'clock. Its origin still could not be established. There are no victims.

1913 Orion fire - 4 wells destroyed

In the morning of 24th February 1913 a powerfull fire started in the Tintea Oilfield at well No. 2 UN GR Tintea belonging of ''Orion Company''. The fire spread very quickly and other 3 wells and 4 oil gathering basins were engulfed in flames. Until the middle of the day the fire was put under control. One oilmen was injured and suffered burns. Oil wells destroyed by the blaze:

The Romanian government reluctantly gave permission for the destruction and the British Sappers wrecked derricks and pipelines, set the wells ablaze, and left such destruction that production could not be resumed until spring. Output by the Germans for all of 1917 was only one-third that of 1916.

Other stocks of oil destroyed were at :
GAGENI (Prahova) - 1,900 tons belonging to the Orion Company.
PLOESTI (Prahova) - 30,000 tons belonging to the Astra Company and deposited in their pipe fine station.
PLOESTI (Prahova) - 3,000 tons in the Roumanian Consolidated pipe line station.
TELEAJEN (Prahova) - 50,000 tons. This quantity was deposited in the State pipe line tanks.
PLOPENI (Prahova) - 20,500 tons, belonging to the Romana Belgiana Refinery were burnt.
Other oilfields destroyed:
APOSTOLACHE - With 1 drilling and 4 producing wells.
PACURETI - With 1 drilling and 1 producing well.
CEPTURA - W i t h 2 drilling and 1 producing well.
These last three localities had a total daily production of 13 tons, and there was not much activitv to be seen.
