Eruption of oil well no. 11 CRM Filipesti

Oil well no. 11 CRM Filipesti was spud by ''Creditul Minier Company'' in 1932 at 1756 meters in search of the Meotian layer. The well is located on the Bana hill, 2 km away from the Moreni city center. The eruption started on August 4, 1932, around 3 ia.m., when the oilmen were perforating the well casing in front of the Meotian layer. Large amounts of oil and gases flooded the Bana area. The production was estimated at about 2,000 tons of oil per day ( ''200 vagoane de titei pe zi'' ). The function of the wells and installations in the vicinity of the well was stopped. The  traffic on the national road Moreni-Baicoi was stopped. The trees in the surrounding area were cut. All of these measures were taken in order to avoid another disaster like 160 RA 1929-1931 fire.
