1935 EPS fire - ''Petrolul Romanesc'' wells

In the afternoon of 23rd January 1935, on the Pascov Valley a powerfull fire broke out at oil well No. 27 PR Moreni Sud. The wooden derrick caught fire and one piece o wood in flames was carried by the wind 145 meteres away to N-E and ignited an open pit full with oil. From the open pit the fire spread to well no. 29 PR Moreni Sud and at an oil tank located in the Tank Farm Creditul Minier. The tank, full with 2 000 tons of oil, was hardly extinguished.
