Anton Raky oil wells dug at Moreni

In this postcard you can see some of the first oil wells dug in Moreni. In the left it is the oil well no. 12 M AR Moreni Sud spud in 1906 at 238 meters and in the right, 23 meters away to the north it is the oil well no. 2 A AR Moreni Sud spud in 1905 at 226,5 meters deep. Those wells were drilled by  Campina-Moreni Company run by Mr. Anton Racky. This company will by absorbed in 1906 by the by ''Regatul Roman'' ( his first manager was Mr. Anton Racky ) which turned into ''Astra Romana ( established by Royal Dutch Shell by merging Soc. "Astra" and ''Regatul Roman'' ). After the name of oil well no. 2 A AR Moreni Sud was named the tank farm Park  2 AR where oil will be transported, collected and pumped since then and until now.
