Oil production center at Campina hit by earthquake(1940)-refinery chimneys tumbled and fierce fires started in oil plants.Travellers from Bucharest report that earthquake damage to the oilfields in Rumania is much greater than has been admitted. The Campiña refineries have been thrown completely out of operation, and storage tanks in two places have been destroyed. They state that the pipelines between Ploiesti and Constanta have been broken for several hundred yards. A German technical commission has arrived to examine the damage and to supervise urgent reconstruction.
