THE FIRE at the
Bana-Moreni oilfield
— Five wells and seven
oil tanks destroyed —

Regarding the fire in the
Bana-Moreni oil rig, a morning newspaper reported that 7 wells had burned. The
reality is completely different.
The fire broke out last
night at 5 o'clock and burned oil wells: 101, 102 and 103, of soc. Aquila -
Franco-Romanian, No. 11, of soc.
"Petrolia", no. 505 of soc. "Unirea", formerly
"Orion" as well as 7 oil tanks, 5 of which belong to Soc.
Franco-Romanian Aquila, one of the ’’Petrolia’’ and another of ’’Unirea’’. In
total, 8 crude oil wagons were burned (
80 cubic meters ). All wells were in production.
Despite all the help
given, the fire could not be located until this morning at 6 o'clock. Its
origin still could not be established. There are no victims.

Oil well No. 11 CC Moreni Bana finally
spud in 1943 at 794 meters.
Oil well No. 101 Aqr Moreni Bana spud at
776 meters.
Oil well No. 102 Aqr Bana Nord spud in
1913 at 862 meters.
Oil well No. 103 Aqr Moreni Bana spud
at 770 meters.
Oil well No. 505 UN Orion Moreni spud in 1914 at 778 meters.
